Castle Connections, Queenborough, Isle of Sheppey

‘Clay Day’ – Open workshop

A day to rebuild the Castle!

FREE hands on activities for all the family in collaboration with Creative People and Places Swale and Medway.

We want to hear your views on the kind of events and activities you would like to see in your community. Come down to Castle Connections, meet us and the artist Duncan Hooson and tell us what you would like to get involved in and pin yourself on the map for Creative People and Places.

Duncan will lead the making sessions, demonstrating on the potters throwing wheel how to make a wide variety of forms and you get a chance to have a go at creating a temporary large scale sculpture based on re-imagining the lost castle of Queenborough.

Space Invaders Toolkit Launch

Space Invaders Toolkit Launch, Film Showing & Panel Discussion With FrancisKnight, artists Nicole Mollett, Lucy Steggals and Chrissie Williams from Castle Connections, Queenborough

Space Invaders featured three artists' residencies held in community venues across the Isle of Sheppey to enable artists to work in a temporary new environment. It provided the time and space for an artist to develop their work and creatively explore new ideas. Each venue also took the opportunity to promote their facilities to a wider audience.

Join us for a film screening of a 'Colour Mining Blue', a portrait of Blue Town created from data (photographic stills, audio recordings, film clips) gathered in Blue Town, Isle of Sheppey, during Feb/ March 2012.

Thursday 8th November Castle Connections Railway Terrace, Well Rd Queenborough, Isle of Sheppey 6.30 - 8.30pm
