2025 Review

As 2025 draws to a close, we’ve been reflecting on a year defined by thoughtful growth, meaningful conversations and a continued commitment to high-quality public art that genuinely serves people and places.

Published date: 16 December 2025

Throughout the year, we’ve continued to champion public art as a strategic, place-shaping tool. When embedded early and delivered well, it adds long-term cultural, social and economic value to developments and the communities they serve — something that remains central to how we work. A real highlight of 2025 has been the continued success of Talking Public Art, our podcast series. Over 5 new episodes we hold intelligent discussions around public art, landscape, community engagement and creative practice. We’ve been delighted and inspired by conversations with Brigitte Orasinski, Chris Dixon, Jo Verrent, Victoria Jones and Joe Gerrard, each bringing generosity, insight and challenge to the dialogue around contemporary public art practice.

This year we also took time to step back into artists’ studios, visiting Nicole Mollett and José Den Hartog in The Hague. Spending time observing their process, watching hand-painted tiles being carefully lifted from the kiln, was a powerful reminder of the craft, care and time that sit behind strong public artworks. The visit reinforced our why and why we believe deeply in commissioning processes that respect artists, champion quality and allow ideas to develop properly.

2025 has been a year for celebration too.

In June, we were shortlisted for the Planning Awards, Award for Best Use of Arts, Culture or Sport in Placemaking for Parsonage Place, working with Bellway Homes and artist Rob Turner, a project that reflects the value of collaboration and long-term thinking.

In September, we were delighted to see the launch of two artworks:

The Story of Water by Nicole Mollett and José Den Hartog and Dwell by Tim Norris.

Both projects demonstrate the strength of site-responsive public art strategies, long-term relationships and thoughtful artist selection, values that continue to guide our approach.

2025 has been a year of quiet confidence, fresh ideas and raising standards. Behind the scenes, we’ve also been developing a new service offering, exploring a different approach to when, how and why public art is commissioned with sustainability and long-term impact at its core.

We’ve been grateful for the support of others along the way and for the opportunity to take part in excellent creative business support. Thank you to The Business Terrace, Roger Williams and Create Southeast for their insight, encouragement and generosity.

As the sector continues to evolve, we head into the next year well positioned with new clients, exciting projects and a renewed commitment to sustainability and raising standards in public art practice.
