Stones Farm
Shaping the vision and facilitating community consultation
FrancisKnight were appointed by Chartway Group Ltd and the Hyde Group as an integral part of the design team for Stones Farm Development, Sittingbourne, Kent, producing a Public Art Strategy as part of the Reserved Matters Application. This has allowed the specialists in archaeology, landscape, architecture, engineering and public art to have early conversations and ideas about what an artist can genuinely influence and enhance.
FrancisKnight appointed Lead Artist Nicole Mollett to help shape the strategy and facilitate community consultation. In her role, Nicole produced a map of the area which reflects her research and highlights the opportunities for art commissions.
While there is no planning condition for the provision of Public Art for Stones Farm, both Chartway Group Ltd and The Hyde Group have taken the lead in commissioning a Public Art Strategy that fully embraces the value of art and placemaking when delivering new homes and communities.
