Duncan Hooson - Clay Day

Duncan Hooson - Clay Day

Artist led event

Artist Duncan Hooson was invited to run a Clay Day workshop at Castle Connections, Queenborough as part of the six events for Creative People & Places: Swale & Medway.

Over 100 people attended the day, which saw children and adults help to create a giant clay castle and share their ideas about the kinds of creative events and activities they would like to see on the Island and in the rest of Swale and Medway.

Figures, animals, flowers and other models out of clay were attached to a giant replica of Queenborough Castle with artist Duncan Hooson offering advice and encouragement while creating twisting turrets for the castle on his potter’s wheel.
