Spinney Rose Garden

A new planting scheme for the Spinney including varieties of roses has been planted to bloom thoughout much of the year on the Spinney to create both an air of abundance and a lavish scent to the village centre.
Award-winning furniture designer Alun Heslop was commissioned to produce a piece of work for the garden and the 10 sculptural shapes are based on the form of the many razor fish shells found on the beach at Leysdown.
A group of residents visited the artist in his studio and also helped to choose the rose varieties, which have been planted within a mix of shrubs.
